The Transformer toy line is produced by an American company, Hasbro. Originally created by a Japanese company, Hasbro bought the rights to distribute in 1984.Hasbro went on to buy the branding rights and copyrights on the toy.
Transformers have been a very popular brand for the company and have been entertaining children for many years. With the release of several movies the toy has gained in popularity both to children and collectors of the older toys.
Transformers are divided into two groups. The Autobots who are the heroes and the Decepticons who are their foes. Each of these toys can be shifted around to change their shape from a vehicle, animal or tool to become a robot action figure.
